NJ Man Who Committed Multiple Armed Robberies Learns Fate: Feds An Elizabeth man was recently sentenced to 15 years in prison for committing three armed robberies in New Jersey, authorities said. Dayshawn Brimfield previously pleaded guilty to multiple robbery offenses and a weapons charge, U.S. Attorney Alina Habba said. On Friday, April 2, 2021, Brimfield robbed a bank in Hazlet after he handed the teller a note that read, “This is a Robbery I have a Gun I will Kill Someone if you do not follow these instructions,” Habba said. East Windsor Man Started Fire In Church Parking Lot, Remains At Large: Highstown Police A 21-year-old East Windsor Township man is on the lam after being charged with setting multiple fires in Hightstown, authorities said. On Sunday evening, March 30, officers responded to fires at Mill Rill Run East, Rocky Brook Park and the parking lot of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Hightstown police said. $150K: Hudson, Middlesex Lotto Players Split Jackpot It was a wonderful Wednesday for two lottery players in Hudson and Middlesex counties, respectively. Two tickets, one sold in Hoboken and the other in North Brunswick, each matched all five numbers in the Jersey Cash 5 drawing on Wednesday, May 7, splitting the $150,000 prize. The tickets were sold at Prime Time Convenience on Willow Avenue in Hoboken and Raceway on Route 1 South in North Brunswick. The winning numbers were 03, 09, 19, 24 and 36. Somers Point Woman Missing For Two Weeks: Police A woman has been missing from Somers Point since Thursday, April 24, police said. Bryn Rutherford was last seen in the Somers Point area and has not had any contact with her friends or family since that date. She does not currently have a cell phone or vehicle, police said. Long Branch Man Arrested While Peering Through Woman’s Window: Police A 50-year-old Long Branch man was arrested and charged on Monday, May 5 after he was found trespassing in backyards in West Long Branch, authorities said. Roberto Durand was caught trespassing in the backyard of an 80-year-old woman, who had noticed several items moved over the previous two weeks, West Long Branch police said. NJ Parents Charged With Murder Of Infant Daughter: Prosecutor Two Lakewood parents were arrested and charged on Wednesday, May 7, with murdering their three-month old daughter, authorities said. On Monday, May 5 at 7:20 p.m., Lakewood Township police responded to a residence on Pinehurst Drive for a report of an infant having difficulty breathing, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Fatal Shooting In Orange: Prosecutor A person was fatally shot in Orange on the evening of Tuesday, May 6, authorities said. The shooting occurred at 11:30 p.m. on the 400 block of Hillside Avenue late Tuesday night, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said.
