Berkeley Man Who Groped Nurse At Rehab Facility Learns Fate: Prosecutor A 67-year-old Berkeley Township man was sentenced to 120 days in jail on Friday, May 9, after being convicted of criminal sexual contact against a nurse, authorities said. On Thursday, March 22, 2023, at 6:50 p.m., Berkeley Township police responded to the Crystal Lake Rehabilitation Facility after David Taber touched a nurse’s breast, placed her in a bear hug and attempted to pull down her pants, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. A co-worker intervened and separated the two, Billhimer said. Taber was convicted in March following a weeklong jury trial, Billhimer said.

Ocean County Trio Shot Into Toms River Residence: Prosecutor Three Ocean County residents were indicted by a grand jury for attempted murder on Thursday, May 8, after they shot into a residence in Toms River in January, authorities said. On Monday, Jan. 13, at 1:55 a.m., Toms River police responded to Justice Court after three men shot into a residence occupied by an adult and two children, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. NJ Son Murdered Father In Jersey City: Prosecutor A 25-year-old Jersey City man is charged with fatally shooting his 52-year-old father on Saturday, May 10, authorities said. At 8:15 p.m., Jersey City police responded to 117-121 Wade St. and found Gerard Brooker, Sr. with gunshot wounds, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Suarez said. His son, Gerard Brooker Jr., was arrested at 2:40 a.m. in Manhattan on Sunday, May 11, Suarez said. Brooker Jr. is charged with murder and multiple weapons offenses, Suarez said.

Washington Township Boy ID'd After Fatal Shooting: Fundraiser Elijah Rodriguez, a Gloucester County resident, has been identified as the 10-year-old boy fatally shot in his South Jersey home on Tuesday, May 6. Officers responded to the home on the 400 block of Westminster Blvd and found Elijah dead, having sustained a gunshot wound to the head, Washington Township police Gloucester County said. Brick Township Parolee Admits To Child Porn Possession: Ocean County Prosecutor A 42-year-old Brick Township man pleaded guilty on Friday, May 9 to sending and receiving child pornography online, authorities said. Per the terms of his plea agreement, Dennis Hubert is expected to be sentenced to five years in prison, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Armed Summit Home Invader Arrested: Police A 26-year-old East Orange resident was arrested and charged on Friday, May 9 with an armed home invasion in Summit in February, authorities said. Alquan Harris unlawfully entered a home, taking a 2025 Infiniti QX80 while armed with a weapon, Summit police said.
