JoyRide Cycling In Westport Hits The Pedals To Help Orlando Victims
WESTPORT, Conn. -- JoyRide Cycling Studio will host four fundraising rides this week to support the victims and families of the Orlando mass shooting. Instructors Jared Marinelli and Adam Keller will lead the following fundraising rides: Thursday, June 23 at 10:45 a.m. at JoyRide Darien Friday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at JoyRide Wilton Saturday, June 25 at 11 a.m. at Joyride Ridgefield Sunday, June 26 at noon at JoyRide Westport The suggested donation for each ride is $45. Delia Ephron To Present New Novel At Scarsdale Library Talk, Book Signing
SCARSDALE, Conn. -- Bestselling author, screenwriter and playwright Delia Ephron will introduce her latest novel "Siracusa" at Scarsdale Public Library on Saturday, July 16. GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A new DreamCourt basketball court recently opened at Old Tarrytown Park, courtesy of the World Ventures Foundation, Nancy Lieberman Charities and Sport Court East. Stratford Police Arrest Suspected Heroin Dealer
STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford Police have arrested a Bridgeport man suspected of being a major heroin dealer, according to the Connecticut Post. Victor Arce, 50, was taken into custody on Monday, June 20, and charged with three counts of sale of heroin and one count of operating a drug factory, the Connecticut Post said. The arrest follows a three-month investigation after police began receiving information that Arce was allegedly selling heroin throughout Stratford, reported the Connecticut Post. Yale Professor To Speak To Democracy For Connecticut Group In Norwalk
NORWALK, Conn. -- Yale University professor and author Jacob Hacker will speak at the next meeting of Democracy For Connecticut at the SIlver Star Diner on Wednesday, June 22. DOT Restoring All Lanes On Route 8 As Stage 1 Of Bridge Project Winds Down
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Motorists will breathe a sigh of relief when the Stage 1 Crossover phase of the road project on Route 8 and 25 in Bridgeport is completed on Saturday, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced. The work involved includes the rehabilitation and/or replacement of four bridge structures on Route 8 in Bridgeport (over Capitol Avenue and Lindley Street), as well as the widening of the Exit 4 northbound off-ramp and Lindley Street. PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. The Jacob Burns Film Center is seeking volunteers for their See Hear Feel Film and Minds in Motions programs. See Hear Feel Film teaches third graders active viewing skills and techniques used for storytelling via film.
