Ottaway Film Center Presents 'The Leopard'
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The Jim Ottaway Jr. Film Center will host a screening of "The Leopard" on Thursday, Aug. 4. Based on on Giuseppe di Lampedusa's novel, Luchino Visconti's film follows an aristocratic family and their adaptation to Italy's unification under Garibaldi. "The Leopard" stars Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon and Claudia Cardinale. Tickets are $10. The screening begins at 7 p.m. Click here to reserve tickets online. Axel Is Hi Tor Animal Care Center's 'Pet Of The Week'
POMONA, N.Y. -- Hi Tor Animal Care Center's Pet of the Week is a two to three-year-old male terrier/hound mix named Axel. Axel is reportedly highly energetic, as well as friendly and social. He enjoys playing outdoors, and would do well going on a lot of walks. He would do well in a home with teens and adults that can keep him active and busy, as well as continue his training. Peekskill Water Testing Returns 'Favorable' Results, School District Says
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill City School District's recent water safety tests returned “very favorable, with little remediation necessary" results, the district said “While, of course, we had hoped that no remediation would be necessary, we are grateful that the troublesome areas identified were minimal,” said Schools Superintendent David Fine. “We can now remedy the few areas that needed attention and move into the next school year with the security of knowing that our District water supply is safe.” Three out of the 49 sample locations tested indicated lead above the allowable le…

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- The Pound Ridge Swim and Dive Team will honor late coach Chris Dewey with a swim-a-thon on Saturday, July 9. The Dolphins will swim for an hour in his honor. All donors will be invited to the Dolphins' breakfast that morning to cheer on the swimmers. As previously reported, the Pound Ridge resident died at the age of 28 in December. Clarkstown Police Seek Orangeburg Woman On Larceny Charges
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- A woman from Orangeburg is wanted by Clarkstown Police on multiple counts of larceny. Ashley Ryan, 35, has red hair and blue eyes and is 5 feet 8 inches tall. Her last known address was in Orangeburg. Anyone with information on her whereabouts can contact the Clarkstown Detective Bureau at 845-639-5840.
