Stephen A. Fasciani, 81, Of Poughkeepsie
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Stephen A. Fasciani, a resident of Poughkeepsie and Schroon Lake, died Tuesday, June 7. He was 81.Born Nov. 20, 1934, in Wappingers Falls, he was the son of the late Antonio and Clara Didonetti Fasciani.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1952-55. He worked for 30 years as a correction officer at Green Haven Correctional and Downstate Correctional Facility as a sergeant, retiring in 1989.

Mario Ennio Ablondi, 92, Of Pearl River
PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Mario Ennio Ablondi, a resident of Pearl River, died Tuesday, June 7. He was 92.Born March 5, 1924, in Park Ridge, N.J., he was the son of Alfredo Ablondi and Ersilia Pometti Ablondi. He was raised and lived his entire life in Pearl River, where he was the longtime owner and proprietor of Ablondi’s Bar and Grill.
He served his country during the World War II, enlisting as a U.S. Marine and serving in the Marshall Islands. He was awarded the Purple Heart Feb. 12, 1944, for wounds sustained at Roi Island, Kwajalein Atoll.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Lance Kessell, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday, June 7. He was 77.
Born Sept. 9, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late James Blank Kessell and Geraldine Armstrong.
He was a resident and attended programs at Abilities First in Poughkeepsie. He loved arts and crafts, reading the newspaper and drinking his soda and coffee.
He is survived by his sister Dorothy Martin of Poughkeepsie.; brother James Kessell of Florida.; nephew Edward Martin; niece Justine Raymond; a great-nephew and two great-nieces.

Philip Nappo Sr., 89, Of Suffern
SUFFERN, N.Y. – Philip Nappo Sr., a resident of Suffern, died Monday, June 6. He was 89.
Born Dec.12, 1926, in Suffern, he was the son of Sebastiano and Katrina Nappo.
He was a U.S. Army veteran in the European Theater, and was retired as master plumber/steamfitter for Lederle Labs in Pearl River and for the Village of Suffern.
He also was an accomplished owner of his personal plumbing business, Chick Nappo Plumbing and Heating.

Jose Enrique Goyco, 76, Of Paterson
PATERSON, N.J. – Jose Enrique Goyco, a resident of Paterson, died Saturday, June 4. He was 76.
Born June 29, 1939, in Anasco, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Enrique and Maria (Nogueras) Goyco.
In 1942, the family came to Manhattan, N.Y. In July of 1958, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served with honor and distinction. In 1961, he moved to Paterson.
He owned his own trucking company, J.J. Trucking & Sons and a gas station for 15 years at Lafayette and 18th St. in Paterson. He also worked as a mechanical engineer for Nabisco, retiring in 2007.

OAKLAND, N.J. – Karl F. Steude, a resident of Oakland, died Saturday, June 4. He was 88.He was born June 9, 1927, in Garfield, N.J.
He graduated from Garfield High School, then joined the U.S. Marines. After an honorable discharge, he worked at the Okonite Cable Company in Paterson for four decades. He dedicated his life to his family and to community service. He was a member of F&AM Masonic Lessing Passaic Lodge # 67 for more than 50 years.

Eunice Mehan Thomas, 90, Stamford Native, Nurse
STAMFORD, Conn. — Eunice Mehan Thomas, a native of Stamford, died Thursday, May 19. She was 90.
She was the only child of Anthony and Jennie Czescik Mehan. She attended the Holy Name School and Stamford High School, graduating in 1942. She attended the University of Connecticut for two years before transferring to Cornell University-New York Hospital, where she received her bachelor of science degree in nursing.
During her tenure at Cornell, she was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She continued her studies in a Columbia University graduate program in public health.

BERGENFIELD, N.J. – Luigi Mintrone, a resident of Bergenfield, died Wednesday, June 1. He was 72.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1943, in Corato, Italy, and moved to Bergenfield in 1968.
He is survived by his wife, Guiseppina Mintrone; his children, Angela Armstrong and her husband Frank, Michelle Fitzpatrick and her husband John, and Mary Rodriguez and her husband Louis; and grandchildren, Sarah, Jake, Raven, Marisa, Ashley, Lianna, Domenic and Marc.

RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Alfred J. Capitani Jr., a resident of Rutherford, died Thursday, June 2. He was 83.He is survived by his sons, Bob, Michael and Fred.
