HYDE PARK, N.Y. – Gladys H. Dell, a resident of Hyde Park, died Tuesday, July 12. She was 93.
Born in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late William Gontar and Clementine Boleshevski.
She was married soon after high school and worked part time as a switchboard operator for New York Telephone and the Poughkeepsie Journal. She lived her life as a devout Christian and always loved her rosary.

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. – Carmen Luz de Jesus Cruz Rodriguez, a resident of Haverstraw, died Saturday, July 9. She was 79.
He was born in Bayamón Puerto Rico to Maria Cruz & Jesus de Jesus. She later settled in Haverstraw, where she created a loving home and raised eight children, mostly on her own.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Fannie R. Veach, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, July 10. She was 90.
Born June 17, 1926, in North East, she was the daughter of the late Stewart VanTassell and Annie Proper.
She worked for Kings Court Hotel in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed word search puzzles, watching game shows on TV and had many friends at Beulah Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, James H. Lawless of north Florida.; daughters, Judith Veach and fiancé Slim of Poughkeepsie and Joanne Miller of Hyde Park; several sisters and brothers; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

RHINEBECK, N.Y. – Gretchen Williams, a resident of Rhinebeck, died Friday, July 8. She was 68.
Born May 22, 1948, in Rhinebeck, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Hill) Waldron.
She graduated from Stissing Mountain High School in Pine Plains. She enjoyed gardening but her real job in life was her family. After raising her family, she worked in the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck for more than 20 years. On June 8, 1968, she married Robert Williams.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Dorothea Lashere Kelley, a former resident of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, March 18. She was 102.
Born May 11, 1913, in Tivoli, she was the first child of William and Gladys Potter Lasher. She began her nursing career as a 1935 Vassar Brothers Hospital School of Nursing graduate.

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. – Eileen Clark, a resident of Haverstraw, died Friday, July 8. She was 89.
She was born in Manhattan in 1926, and was the daughter of Mary (Pelly) and Martin Hanrahan. She married Jack Clark in 1949.
She worked for many years in the Rockland County Courthouse in New City. She was well known there for her warmth and kindness toward her co-workers. She was particularly well known for her remembrance of birthdays and milestones which were acknowledged with a lovely card, written in the lost art of beautiful penmanship.

LITTLE FERRY, N.J. – Irene V. Heinige, a resident of Little Ferry, died Friday, July 8. She was 93.
Born in Worcester, Mass., she moved to Little Ferry and was married for 59 years to Ferdinand A. Heinige, former mayor of Little Ferry.
