Mary Holt Moore, 88, Irish-American Community Leader, Of Pearl River
PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – Mary Holt Moore, a resident of Pearl River, died Wednesday, July 13. She was 88.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she graduated from Hunter College, where she founded its Gaelic Society. An unrepentant Irish Republican and devout Catholic, she dedicated her life to the cause of Irish freedom.
She shared her love of Irish history and language as president of the Bronx Gaelic League and Council of Gaelic Societies. She was honored to be last elected grand marshal of the New York City Saint Patrick's Day Parade.

BERGENFIELD, N.J. – Ellen Saparito, a resident of Bergenfield, died Wednesday, July 13. She was 80.
She was born July 23, 1935. She enjoyed spending time with her family at the beach, going to Atlantic City and playing cards with her friends. She was a fantastic cook and loved the holidays, especially baking with her grandchildren.

James S. Gallagher, 78, Of Hackensack
HACKENSACK, N.J. – James S. Gallagher, a resident of Hackensack and formerly of Norwood, died Wednesday, July 13. He was 78.
He worked for General Motors in New York City for many years before retiring. He was an active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Norwood and enjoyed being in the choir.
He is survived by his children, Julie Gallagher of Hackensack and Daniel and his wife Teresa of Upper Saddle River; and grandchildren, Christina and Sandra.

Born May 26, 1949, in Beacon, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth Baker Whitson.

Born Feb.11, 1942, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of George and Helen Papastrat.
She was a Poughkeepsie High School graduate, and received her secretarial training at the Krissler Business Institute. She was a member of the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church. She was well known in Dutchess County having spent 25-plus years as a secretary in the judicial system.
