STAMFORD, Conn. -- John Charles Murphy Jr., a resident of Stamford, died Saturday, Jan. 30. He was 93.Murphy proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS. Mobile CL63 in the Pacific theater during World War II, attaining the rank of radioman third class.
He worked for many years at Machlett Laboratories in Springdale, and was facilities manager for GE Credit Corporation until his retirement. FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Patricia Alavian, a resident of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Feb.24. She was 62.Born in Dublin, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Winifred Fagan. She came to the United States in 1980 and had been a Fairfield resident since 1998, as well as a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Marian Johnson, a resident of Stamford, died Wednesday, Feb.10. She was 99.
As a dedicated volunteer she worked at the Stamford Hospital for more than 30 years. She also volunteered as an ESL literacy coach. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis Episcopal Church in North Stamford, where she taught Sunday school and served on the altar guild.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Theodore Komsta, a lifelong resident of Stamford, died Wednesday, Feb.24. He was 96.He graduated from Stamford High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, when he was stationed in the Pacific and served aboard the USS Antietam. He later worked in the plastics industry.
