Prepare For New Milford Race With Couch To 5K Training Group
NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Runners who want to take part in the annual run hosted by New Milford Fire Co. 1 on Saturday, June 18 but are intimidated by the distance can join a group training for the race. New runners can be part of the Couch to 5K Community (C25K) and train to get in shape for the event. Red Flag Warning Issued As Brush Fire Threat Grows In Bridgeport
FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A red flag warning for brush fires will go into effect Tuesday afternoon due to dry weather conditions across Fairfield County.The warning will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. April 19, according to the National Weather Service . A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected or occurring. Strong winds, low humidity and dry fuels significantly elevate the chance of fire. All's Well At Ridgewood's Travell School After Smokey Start
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- An electrical fire in the music room caused the evacuation of Ridgewood's Travell School this morning before classes began.Principal Margaret Leininger and custodian Mr. James immediately called the Ridgewood Fire Department. Firefighters arrived after James had already extinguished the small electrical fire that broke out in a ventilator. The RFD cleared everyone to enter the building around 8:30 a.m.

TEANECK, N.J. -- The middle school in Teaneck is planning its first 5K run on Saturday, May 7.The Thomas Jefferson Middle School will host a 1 Mile Fun Run and Color 5K at the school at Noon. HACKENSACK, N.J. -- The Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders recently adopted a resolution recognizing April 2016 as Animal Cruelty Prevention Month.
