College scholarship money was awarded to students from Tenafly, Hasbrouck Heights and Fort Lee, reports northjersey.com.Garden of Dreams Foundation funds were granted to Daniel Nachum of Tenafly, Ivelisse Mandato from Hasbrouck Heights and Noelle Dadon of Fort Lee in the amount the $10,000 a piece, reports northjersey.com. Norwood Woman Fined For Leaving Dog Tops Last Week's News In Bergen County
BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. -- Here's a look at last week's top stories from around Bergen County. A judge in Hackensack fined a Norwood woman $1,500 and sentenced her to six months probation after she pleaded guilty Tuesday to leaving her husband's dog to die when she moved out of their Northvale home. An 18-year-old Ridgefield Park High School athlete had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl, said authorities who arrested him. Congressman Pascrell Throws Out First Pitch At Passaic Opening Day
PASSAIC, N.J. -- Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-Paterson) took to the field for opening game day at the Passaic Hispanic Baseball League April 16. Pascrell joked that the catcher said he could move off the mound, "... but I didn't need any help getting it over the plate from the rubber." Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- Rockland County Sports Hall of Fame inductee Michael Coffey of Pearl River died suddenly on Thursday, April 21. He was 27. He worked as an Assistant Sports Information Director and Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for Dominican College in Blauvelt. He received the Hall of Fame’s Joe Holland Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lanks Pirate of the Year Award for contributions to Pearl River’s sports programs. Giangeruso announced.The services were offered in cooperation with Bergen County Clerk John S. Hogan.
