Fungi Expert Leads Mushroom Walk In Wyckoff WYCKOFF, N.J. -- A guided mushroom walk and talk takes place at the McFaul Environmental Center in Wyckoff on Tuesday, May 24. John Michelotti, the Mushroom Guy, will lead the walk. The walk takes place from 3-5 p.m. and everyone must pre-register. Cost is $15. Teaneck Public Library Trustees Elect Officers TEANECK, N.J. -- The Board of Trustees of the Teaneck Public Library recently elected new officers. The annual elections were conducted at its May meeting.  Evalyn Brownstein, re-elected President  Joy Charles, named Vice-President  Paul Ostrow, elected Treasurer  All will serve one-year terms.  Also serving on the Board are Karen Langford, Myron Chaitovsky, Sharon Crewes Whitney, and Leola Maddox.  The Board meets monthly and its sessions are open to the public.  The Board of Trustees of the Teaneck Public Library is a semi-autonomous body appointed by the Teaneck Mayor and Council.

Mahwah Mayor Unveils Township Tree Program MAHWAH, N.J. -- Mahwah Mayor Bill Laforet announces the success of the Township Tree program. The township is building Mahwah's tree canopy, one tree at a time after losing hundreds to Hurricane Sandy. In the following years more were lost to the natural decay of mature trees. Over 1,000 sapling trees were distributed in two hours during the Mahwah Environmental Tree giveaway. Bergenfield Ambulance Blood Drive Proves Successful BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- The Volunteer Ambulance Corps of Bergenfield collected 43 pints of blood at a drive held Tuesday. The blood drive was held May 17 in memory of Edward "Ned" Kneisler II. Many people donated food for the event and 48 attempted to donate blood.The food drive was held to benefit the Bergenfield Food Pantry.  BVAC holds annual blood drives to honor past members. Happy Birthday To Cresskill's Rick Cerone CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Happy birthday to former Cresskill resident Rick Cerone.Former Major League Baseball player Cerone was born May 19, 1954 and turns 62 on Thursday. Cerone played high school baseball and football at Essex Catholic High School in Newark. Cerone then attended Seton Hall University, where he played baseball. Friends Of The Lodi Library Award Scholarships To Local Students LODI, N.J. -- Lodi Library scholarship winners will be awarded at a special presentation on Tuesday, June 7.The Scholarship Committee of the Friends of the Lodi Memorial Library awarded $1,000 scholarships to Raymond Choi, who attends Bergen County Academies; and Joseph Fotopolous, who attends Lodi High School.  The presentation at the library begins at 6:30 p.m.  The library is located at One Memorial Drive.
