Paul Milo has worked as a reporter in northern New Jersey for more than 20 years, first for North Jersey Media Group / NorthJersey.com, then at Patch.com and at NJ.com / The Star-Ledger. He has written about a 106-year-old World War I veteran, the Sept. 11 attacks and a 15-year-old stock manipulator who was the youngest person ever civilly charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission, among many other stories. He has interviewed governors, presidential candidates and celebrities including Ryan Seacrest and comedian Kevin Hart.

In addition to his work for New Jersey-based outlets, he has also written for BeliefNet, Editor and Publisher, The Huffington Post, The Boston Globe and other publications, as well as freelance assignments for global chemical company BASF.

His first book, Your Flying Car Awaits, was published by HarperCollins in 2010. As part of the book’s promotional efforts he was interviewed by The New York Times and on WNYC radio’s The Brian Lehrer Show

Plane At Newark Airport Leaks Fuel During Takeoff: Police About 240 gallons of fuel spilled from an airliner as it was preparing to take off at Newark Liberty International Airport Monday afternoon, the Port Authority said in a statement.  United Flight 1596 was taxiing when the leak occurred. The Port Authority Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter unit responded and evacuated the plane. Man Indicted For Deadly Elizabeth Shooting A grand jury in Union County returned a five-count indictment against Ronald Santiago, a 22-year-old Elizabeth man accused of killing another man three months ago, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said.  Authorities say Santiago shot and killed Alphonso James, 27, near Mravlag Manor early on June 4. Man, 28, Killed In Bayonne Bridge Crash, Another Seriously Hurt A man died Monday night after the vehicle he was traveling in struck a divider on the New Jersey side of the Bayonne Bridge, authorities said.  Port Authority police said the crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. near the Kennedy Boulevard exit. Both people in the vehicle were taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where the driver died, police said. Another person suffered serious injuries.  The person who was killed has been identified as Tarig Sigler, 28, of New York.  This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Plainfield Cancels Labor Day Parade, Explosive Devices Found Near Route Officials in South Plainfield Monday have cancelled a Labor Day parade and other activities over what officials described only as a "security concern."  Officials did not immediately provide any information about the nature of the threat. Jersey City Man Charged In Fatal Elizabeth Shooting A 24-year-old Jersey City man has been charged in a fatal shooting in Elizabeth last month, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said Friday.  On July 6, police responded to a report of shots fired on East Jersey Street where they found Carlos Rodriguez, 19, with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where he died the next day.  Anthony Figueroa was identified as the suspect. Two More Patients Accuse Summit Doctor Of Sexual Assault A pediatric gastroenterologist previously accused of sexually abusing a patient at his Summit practice faces two additional accusers -- and authorities suspect there may be even more who have not yet come forward.  Michael Tyshkov of Livingston, has been charged with sexually assaulting two patients in different incidents in 2017.
