Paul Milo has worked as a reporter in northern New Jersey for more than 20 years, first for North Jersey Media Group / NorthJersey.com, then at Patch.com and at NJ.com / The Star-Ledger. He has written about a 106-year-old World War I veteran, the Sept. 11 attacks and a 15-year-old stock manipulator who was the youngest person ever civilly charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission, among many other stories. He has interviewed governors, presidential candidates and celebrities including Ryan Seacrest and comedian Kevin Hart.

In addition to his work for New Jersey-based outlets, he has also written for BeliefNet, Editor and Publisher, The Huffington Post, The Boston Globe and other publications, as well as freelance assignments for global chemical company BASF.

His first book, Your Flying Car Awaits, was published by HarperCollins in 2010. As part of the book’s promotional efforts he was interviewed by The New York Times and on WNYC radio’s The Brian Lehrer Show

Landscaper In Union Killed In Work Accident A landscaper who was laying mulch at a worksite in Union was killed Friday morning when a co-worker accidentally ran over him with a truck.  The accident occurred in the parking lot of Costco, 1055 Hudson St., at 10:16 a.m. when a worker in a pickup struck the victim, police said. The victim, whose name was withheld pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at Overlook Hospital.  The accident is under investigation by Officer Micael Cocca of the Union Police Department. Police Identify Woman Found In Fatal Cranford Fire A woman whose body was recovered from a Cranford home during a fire Thursday has been identified, police said.  Deborah Meehan, 65, was found on the first floor of the Brookdale Place home, where a fire had broken out around 3 p.m. The home was heavily damaged in the fire, which appears to have started on the first floor. The fire also appeared to be accidental, police said.  The Union County Fire Investigation Task Force is continuing its investigation, Cranford police also said Friday.

Man Pleads Guilty To Beating Up Pregnant Bus Driver In Elizabeth A 39-year-old Union resident pleaded guilty to assaulting a pregnant NJ Transit bus driver, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.  Andre Dawson III attacked the woman around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 28 while the bus was traveling in Elizabeth at Broad Street and Westfield Avenue. The woman suffered bumps, cuts and bruises in the attack. One Dead In Cranford House Fire Thursday A fire at a home in Cranford claimed one person Thursday afternoon, police said.  The fire broke out at a Brookdale Place home around 3 p.m. Firefighters from Cranford and several neighboring towns responded to the scene, police said. The victim was found inside the home and pronounced dead at the scene.  The cause of the fire was still under investigation Thursday.

Pair Of Teen Porch Pirates Arrested In Roselle Park, Police Say Two borough youths were charged in connection with a recent series of package thefts, Roselle Park police said Thursday.  The pair, aged 13 and 14, were arrested following reported thefts of items that had been delivered to homes between March 27 and 30. Detective Gregory Polakoski conducted the investigation, which also involved packages that had been opened as well as taken.  Some of the stolen items were found, police also said.  The teens were charged with theft and released pending an appearance in family court.

Husband, Wife From E. Orange Sentenced In Large Bank Fraud A married couple from East Orange have both been sentenced for stealing tens of thousands of dollars from customers of the bank where the wife worked, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York announced.  Seconey Brown, 26,  and Antoinette Mitchell-Brown, 42, both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
