Man Charged In Fatal Hit-Run Crash On Thruway More than a month after an Albany man survived a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer on the New York State Thruway only to later be killed by a hit-and-run driver, police have made an arrest. Ardit Lleshi, age 25, of Garfield, New Jersey, was taken into custody on June 30 in connection to the death of 48-year-old Michael Tran, according to New York State Police. NYC Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Child In Dobbs Ferry A man is behind bars, accused of sexually abusing a child in the region. Charles Barbaro, age 53, of Brooklyn, was arrested Thursday, July 12, following an investigation by New York State Police and the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center. Investigators said Barbaro sexually assaulted a victim under the age of 13 in the village of Dobbs Ferry. He was arraigned on a felony charge of criminal sexual act before the village of Dobbs Ferry Court and ordered held at the Westchester County jail on $50,000 bond. Barbaro is due back in court Thursday, July 14.

Federal Jury Convicts NY Man In $600M Medical Billing Fraud Scheme A federal jury has convicted a New York man for perpetrating a massive medical billing fraud scheme that netted hundreds of millions of dollars. Motorcyclist Driving In 'Unsafe Manner' Injured After Crashing In Hudson Valley, Police Say A 56-year-old motorcyclist from the Hudson Valley was driving “in an unsafe manner” when he lost control and crashed into a parked vehicle, authorities said. The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said the Highland resident was operating his bike on Vineyard Avenue in the Town of Lloyd when he wrecked just after midnight Tuesday, July 12. Man Busted For Driving Drunk Through Work Zone, Fleeing Cops In Capital District, Police Say A Capital District man is behind bars after he was allegedly busted driving drunk in a work zone and then tried running from police. Woman Ejected After Vehicle With Three Occupants Crashes Into Trees In Area, Sheriff Says Investigators say “fatigue” may have caused a Hudson Valley driver to lose control of a car and crash into a wooded area early Wednesday, July 13, sending three people to the hospital. Man Sentenced For Having Sex With Minor In North Salem A man was sentenced to four years in prison after admitting that he traveled to Westchester County to have sex with a 15-year-old. Christopher Nunez, age 27, of Florida, received the maximum sentence allowed Tuesday, July 12, after previously pleading guilty to third-degree rape, a felony. Hudson Valley Man Called City Office, Threatened To Shoot Cops, Police Say A Hudson Valley man is facing criminal charges after allegedly threatening to shoot police officers. Ulster County resident Masani Gordon, of Saugerties, was arrested Thursday, July 8, following an investigation by Saugerties Police. Investigators said the 26-year-old called the Town of Saugerties Supervisor’s Office in June 2022 and threatened to shoot members of the city’s police force. Police did not say what, if anything, may have prompted the threat. Gordon was charged with making terroristic threats, a felony, and ordered held at the Ulster County jail without bail.
