An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

One Injured In Pleasantville Kitchen Fire: FD A person was injured following a fire in Pleasantville on the morning of Saturday, March 15, authorities said. At 9:25 a.m., firefighters responded to North 2nd Street and confirmed a kitchen fire, the Pleasantville Fire Department said. The fire was quickly brought under control, firefighters said. One resident was burned on their hand and feet, firefighters said.

Person Fatally Shot At Long Branch Housing Complex: Prosecutor A man was fatally shot in Long Branch on Sunday, March 16, authorities said. The shooting occurred around noon on Garrett Drive in the John R. Lewis Commons housing complex, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made, authorities said. The shooting remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Major Crimes Bureau and the Long Branch Police Department, authorities said.

Bob Odenkirk Appearing With Northvale To Sign Books: Here's Where, When Bob Odenkirk is keeping his new poetry book all in the family. The "Better Call Saul" star is the author of "Zilot & And Other Important Rhymes", a book of poems he wrote with his two children when they were younger. Pennsylvania Man Airlifted After Route 80 Crash: Njsp A 46-year-old Jim Thorpe, Pa. resident was airlifted after a crash on Route 80 in Warren County on the early morning of Friday, March 14, authorities said. At 12:12 a.m., officers responded to Route 80 West in Knowlton Township when a Buick ran off the roadway to the left, up an embankment and struck a guardrail, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver was transported by air to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.
