Tire Fire Rages On FedEx Truck On I-95 At Westport-Fairfield Border WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport and Fairfield firefighters squelched a roaring blaze that erupted when a Federal Express truck’s tire exploded on Interstate 95 north between exits 18 and 19 early Thursday morning. The truck driver was notified of a fire around his right rear tire by another truck driver via CB radio shortly before 5:30 a.m., Westport fire officials said. The FedEx driver pulled over to the side and attempted to put out the fire, but the tire exploded and the fire extended to the trailer portion and storage area of the truck, fire officials said. Percocet, Wallet, Cash Stolen From Cars in Fairfield Driveway FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Shirley Place man on Saturday told police someone stole Percocet pills, a wallet and other items from his two unlocked cars during the overnight, Fairfield police said. He told officers that the missing items included 60 Percocet pills, which were in a bottle in the glove compartment of one car, and Beats headphones, an iPhone charger and a wallet containing $50 from the other car, police. The man said both vehicles were parked in his driveway, police said.
