Fairfield Police Seek Suspect In $5K Water Machine Theft At Fitness Center FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Fairfield Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in the theft of a $5,000 water ionization machine at Anytime Fitness, 1838 Black Rock Turnpike. The owner of the establishment reported the theft at 11:30 p.m. April 19, police said. The fitness center is available 24 hours a day, but it is not always monitored, police said. The department released a photo from the scene identified as Tyler Rodgers, but that may be an alias, police said. Anyone with information should call the Fairfield Police Department at 203-254-4800.

On April 15, employees from the Stop & Shop on Villa Avenue said a man ran out of the store with a cart containing five bags of frozen shrimp, valued at $99.40, police said. Newtown Man Charged In Assault On Girlfriend In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Newtown man was charged with third-degree assault after his girlfriend reported that he grabbed her on the wrist and pulled out a clump of her hair just before 2 a.m. Monday in an attack in a Bungalow Avenue home, police said. George Zachos, 32, of Glen Road, was also charged with disorderly conduct, police said. He has a history of arrests, including assault, in Connecticut, Maine and Virginia, police said. He was held on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court April 18, police said.
