Late Classmates To Be Honored At Shelton High Graduation SHELTON, Conn. -- Shelton High School will bid adieu to the Class of 2016 at its commencement ceremony Friday at 6 p.m at the high school’s Finn Stadium. The ceremony will include the poignant presentation of an honorary degree to the parents of a senior killed in a car crash in February. Former Stratford Firefighter Named Deputy Chief In Bridgeport BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Mayor Joe Ganim announced a new leadership team on Wednesday for the Bridgeport Fire Department, naming Richard Thode to be provisional fire chief and Lance Edwards as the deputy fire chief. Learn To Protect Your Property At Fairfield Home Safety Fair FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Fairfield Police Department, in partnership with People’s United Bank, will host a Home Safety Fair on Wednesday, June 22, at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. Bridgeport Girl, 13, Faces Shoplifting Charge In Fairfield FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A 13-year-old Bridgeport girl was charged with sixth-degree larceny Friday afternoon after she tried to steal some items from the juniors department at Kohl’s in Fairfield, police said. Security staff at the Tunxis Hill Road store told officers they saw the North Avenue girl pick some items, valued at $54, and go into the fitting room. She then attempting to leave the store with the items in her purse, police said. The girl was released to her mother’s custody. She is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on June 14, police said.
