Letter: Fairfield Needs Kupchick More Than Ever Letter: Fairfield Needs Kupchick More Than Ever
Letter: Fairfield Needs Kupchick More Than Ever FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Please send your letter to fairfield@dailyvoice.com. Editor: I have had the privilege of working with Brenda Kupchick for the past twelve years as she has served in a variety of elected offices – Board of Education, RTM and State Representative. Brenda is knowledgeable, passionate, thoughtful and hard working. She is responsible, loyal and dedicated to the town, the state and her constituents. In my capacity as Chairman of the town’s Board of Finance, I have seen firsthand how the State’s financial mess…
Bridgeport Kicks Off Fire Prevention Week With Free Inspections, Alarms Bridgeport Kicks Off Fire Prevention Week With Free Inspections, Alarms
Bridgeport Kicks Off Fire Prevention Week With Free Inspections, Alarms BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Sincere Pettway was just three when fire ravaged through her Frenchtown Road home in January, killing her and injuring five others. The story may have been different if there were batteries in the condo’s smoke detectors. Memories of the tragedy are just one reason the Bridgeport Fire Department kicked off National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 9-15) a little early Friday with a visit to Judith Drew’s home to inspect her smoke alarms and give her a few more free ones. “This is a good thing. You have a lot of multifamily homes here (in Bridgeport),” the Lorraine Terrace hom…
Fairfield Letter: Neuberger Supports Solid Budget Plan Fairfield Letter: Neuberger Supports Solid Budget Plan
Fairfield Letter: Neuberger Supports Solid Budget Plan FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Please send your letter to fairfield@dailyvoice.com. To the editor: Connecticut has so much going for it but we continue to neglect our transportation issues. You don't have to be a commuter to realize that we have some serious congestion issues. The Democrats in Hartford, including Gov. Dannel Malloy and Cristin McCarthy Vahey, just don’t seem to get it.  McCarthy Vahey has voted to fund these last two budgets with record high tax increases. Although she claims that she voted against the budget proposal…
Fairfield Letter: Re-Elect Brenda Kupchick Fairfield Letter: Re-Elect Brenda Kupchick
Fairfield Letter: Re-Elect Brenda Kupchick FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Please send your letter to fairfield@dailyvoice.com. To the Editor: Brenda Kupchick has been a great representative for our town and for our district for many years and deserves our support for re-election. Now, more than ever, with the state in such a terrible financial condition, we need Brenda fighting for Fairfield. Fighting against the continued increases in spending, taxes, regulation and overall poor financial policies that are causing businesses to leave, jobs to disappear and our state to be rank…

Fairfield Letter: Neuberger Is The Choice This November Fairfield Letter: Neuberger Is The Choice This November
Fairfield Letter: Neuberger Is The Choice This November FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Please send your letter to fairfield@dailyvoice.com. To the Editor: Connecticut ranks 50th for its fiscal health among states. That is last place! The state is heavily reliant on debt to finance its spending. As a lifelong Fairfield resident, I can remember when Connecticut had surpluses and no income tax. Today, the total debt is $20.88 billion with another $83.31 billion in unfunded pension liability. We are on the verge of a point of no return for a fiscal crisis. Yet, Cristin McCarthy Vahey, Gov. Da…
Fairfield Letter: Kupchick Gets Things Done Fairfield Letter: Kupchick Gets Things Done
Fairfield Letter: Kupchick Gets Things Done FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Please send your letter to fairfield@dailyvoice.com To the editor. Brenda Kupchick has dedicated so much of her time to Fairfield. As a former neighbor, I came to know Brenda and her husband and son very well. Brenda and her husband Peter started their own small heating & cooling business in Fairfield 28 years ago, and they worked long hours to make it a success. Brenda was always at the school helping out wherever she was needed. When members of the school community and neighborhood were facing a contr…

Fairfield Letter: Seniors Should Support Ray Neuberger Fairfield Letter: Seniors Should Support Ray Neuberger
Fairfield Letter: Seniors Should Support Ray Neuberger FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Please send your letter to fairfield@dailyvoice.com. To the Editor: As Connecticut has become ranked as one of the worst states to retire, we need a candidate like Ray Neuberger to work to bring about a change. I have been so disappointed with Cristin McCarthy Vahey and Governor Malloy.   Connecticut does little to support its senior resident retirees. Real estate taxes are the second highest in the country. Seniors face taxes on social security benefits and most other retirement income , with no exemption…

Fairfield Letter: Kupchick is passionate, hard working FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Please send your letter to fairfield@dailyvoice.com. To the editor: I have worked with Brenda Kupchick in several different capacities over the last eight years. During that time I have gotten to know her as a colleague, friend and a State Representative. Brenda is one of the most dedicated, passionate and hard working people I know. She cares about her community and takes the job of being a State Representative very seriously. My husband and I moved to Fairfield a few months ago, and I quickly understood …
