Pelham Larks Offer Free Concert On April 24
PELHAM, N.Y. -- The Pelham Larks are presenting a free, family-friendly concert on Sunday, April 24.The Pelham Larks is a singing group of 22 women from Pelham and the surrounding communities. They sing both a cappella and with musical accompaniment, for audiences "from 2 to 92." Jeffrey Hoffman, choirmaster of Christ Church in Pelham, directs the group.
The group has a diverse repertoire, including classics from the "Great American Songbook," adaptations of pop favorites and spirituals.
The concert will begin at 3 p.m. at the Manor Club, 1023 Esplanade, in Pelham.
Norwalk's James Noble Dies At 94, Played Gov. Gatling On 'Benson'
NORWALK, Conn. — James Noble -- a Norwalk resident who was perhaps best-known for his long-running role of Gov. Eugene X. Gatling on the sitcom "Benson" -- died on Monday, March 28, at Norwalk Hospital, as reported by Hollywood Reporter. He was 94.As the Hollywood Reporter noted,
'Benson,' which ran for seven seasons (1979-86), starred Robert Guillaume as the title character, the same role he played on ABC's 'Soap.' (Both comedies were created by Susan Harris.) M. Concetta 'Connie' White, 95, Longtime Stamford Resident
STANFORD, Conn. -- M. Concetta (Connie) White, a longtime Stamford resident, died on Sunday, March 27. She was 95.
Born in Italy, White immigrated with her family to the United States in her first year. She and her husband owned White's Delicatessen, in Waterside, for many years. After his death, she worked for US Marine Lines, Bartlett Tree Experts and the Stamford Advocate until she retired.
White was active in the Stamford community. She started a chapter of Widow and Widowers. She was also president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for many years, and an active member of the Stamford Over 6…
