Seen Them? Duo Steals Wallet At Mohegan Lake Walmart, Police Say Police are looking for two suspects who they say stole a wallet at a Walmart in Northern Westchester. The wallet, which contained financial cards, personal ID including a passport, and cash, was stolen at the Walmart in Mohegan Lake at 3133 East Main St. (Route 6) on Sunday, Dec. 18, according to an announcement by state police from Wednesday, Jan. 18. Eversource Warns Of 'Deceitful' Scams Targeting Utility Customers Eversource is advising its customers in Connecticut to not become victims of scammers who are attempting to use scare tactics to steal money. To do this, the scammers will pose as Eversource representatives and will target customers over the phone, in person, or online, the company said in a statement on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Teen Duo Charged After Violent, Public Shootout In Yonkers, Police Say Two teens are facing multiple charges after they exchanged gunfire on a public street in Westchester County, police said. The shootout happened on Wednesday, Dec. 28 around 8:30 p.m., when police in Yonkers responded to Garfield Street where they found one of the teens with a gunshot wound to his leg. Multi-Vehicle Crash Causes Injuries In Croton Falls A multi-vehicle accident caused injuries in Northern Westchester and heavy damage to two vehicles. The accident happened on Sunday, Jan. 15 around 9 p.m. in Croton Falls on Stoneleigh Avenue near the Putnam County line, according to the Croton Falls Fire Department. The drivers of the vehicles were injured and their vehicles were damaged, with one car losing a wheel and another nearly slamming into a fence after leaving the road. Eventually, the vehicles were towed away and the scene was cleared within a half hour, firefighters said.

Hartford Man Caught After Kidnapping Victim Out Of State, Police Say A Hartford man is facing charges after he was caught in Connecticut following his kidnapping of an adult victim in Springfield, police said. On Monday, Jan. 16 around 8 p.m., state police in Connecticut were told of an active kidnapping that had happened in Springfield and were alerted that the suspect's gold Chevy Malibu with a temporary license plate was traveling south on I-91 toward Hartford County. Woman Falls 25 Feet Into River In Torrington, Saved By Firefighters Firefighters were able to pull off a daring rescue after a woman fell 25 feet off a bridge in Torrington. The incident happened on Monday afternoon, Jan. 16 when a woman fell off a bridge on Norfolk Road (Route 272) into a river near the Reuben Hart Reservoir, according to the Torrington Fire Department. Firefighters were able to rescue the woman over the span of 25 minutes by using ropes tied to the ladder of a fire truck. Driver Severely Burned In Vehicle Fire In Somers A driver was sent to the hospital with burns after a vehicle fire in Northern Westchester. The blaze happened on Sunday, Jan. 15 around 4:50 p.m. in Somers on Nymph Drive near Lake Lincolndale, where a car caught on fire, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department.
