Jackpot Winner: $260K Lottery Ticket Bought At Storrs Gas Station One lucky person claimed a more than $260,000 jackpot after buying a lottery ticket at a gas station in Storrs.  The $264,552 Fast Play EXTREME GREEN $10 ticket was sold on Saturday, Jan. 28 in Tolland County at the Mobil Xtra Mart located at 2103 Storrs Rd., Connecticut Lottery announced.  The lucky winner took home 100 percent of the jackpot.  Connecticut Lottery did not reveal any details about who bought the winning ticket.

Lane Closures: Sprain Brook Parkway In Mount Pleasant To Be Affected Multiple Days Traffic on a major parkway in Northern Westchester will soon be affected by lane closures that will last for multiple days.  Beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 1, two lanes along the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway in Mount Pleasant between State Route 100 and the Taconic State Parkway will close, Department of Transportation officials said.  The lanes will be closed between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 3.  The closure is to facilitate drainage work.

Vehicle Blaze Leaves Car Seared On Busy Yorktown Road Firefighters were called to put out a raging vehicle fire on a main road in Northern Westchester.  The fire happened on Sunday, Jan. 29 around 1:50 p.m., when firefighters in Yorktown responded to the intersection of Crompond Road (Route 202) and the Taconic State Parkway northbound exit ramp to put out the blaze.  Just under two dozen firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, which left the vehicle heavily damaged and burned.  Luckily, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
