Three People Shot Inside Kearny Apartment: Police Three people were shot at a party in Kearny early Monday morning, August 7, authorities said. The shooting occurred at 1 a.m. at the Vermella East apartment complex, inside a single apartment, police said. The victims sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said. Teenager Shot In Jersey City: Authorities A 19-year-old man was shot in Jersey City early Monday morning, August 7, authorities said. At 3:22 a.m., Jersey City police were called to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Union Street where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left shin, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Wallace-Scalfione said. The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.

Man Found Dead On Train Tracks ID'd NJ Transit has identified the man who may have been electrocuted on train tracks in Newark on Saturday, July 29. Marcus Lee, a 53-year-old Newark resident, may have come in contact with the catenary and was not struck by a train, though officials said they are investigating. Lee's body was discovered at 11:25 a.m. on the tracks just west of Broad Street station in Newark, an NJ Transit spokesperson said.
