Shelter In Place Lifted At FDU Florham Campus, Person With Gun Arrested: Authorities A shelter in place was lifted at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Florham Campus on the early morning of Thursday, Nov. 21, the school said. On the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 20, Fairleigh Dickinson received a report of a person with a gun on campus, Joseph Vitiello, Director of Public Safety at the school said. Duo Stole $4K In Merch From Lululemon: Closter PD Two people are at large after stealing more than $4,000 in merchandise from Lululemon in Closter on Monday, Nov. 11, authorities said. Dad Gets Five Years For Route 287 Road Rage Shooting With Kids In Car: Prosecutor A 41-year-old Middlesex County dad was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, Nov. 15 after being convicted of multiple charges in a road rage shooting on a Route 287 exit ramp in May 2023, authorities said. West New York Financial Advisor Gets 3+ Years for $4M Health Care Fraud Scheme: Feds A 55-year-old West New York financial advisor was sentenced to 41 months in prison on Monday, Nov. 18, for orchestrating a $4 million scheme to defraud public health insurance plans, authorities said. Kaival Patel was convicted last December in Camden federal court of conspiracy, health care fraud, and money laundering, US Attorney Phillip Sellinger said. North Bergen Man Attempted To Lure 11-Year-Old: WNY Police A 29-year-old North Bergen man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Nov. 19, after he attempted to lure an 11-year old girl into his vehicle in West New York, authorities said. The attempted luring occurred at 10:45 p.m. at 61st Street and Kennedy Boulevard, West New York police said. The child was not harmed during the incident, police said. Guy McCann was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and attempting to lure or entice a child, police said. McCann is currently lodged in the Hudson County Jail, police said.

'Lawyer Up:' Lawsuit Filed By Jersey City Employee Fired For Supporting Anti-lgbtq Sister Jonathan Gomez Noriega, who was fired earlier this year by Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop for supporting his sister's political campaign filled with anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, said the mayor axed him to further his political career. Newark Man Convicted Of Killing Friend After Argument: Prosecutor A 46-year-old Newark resident was recently convicted of murder in the first degree after shooting his friend in the back in February 2023, authorities said. William Whitfield was arguing with his friend, 45-year-old Keni Johnson inside the Bradley Court Housing Complex, Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. Byram Man Gets 13 Years After Violating Probation: Sussex County Prosecutor A 55-year-old Byram Township man was sentenced to 13 years in state prison on Friday, Nov. 8, after admitting he violated his recovery court probation, authorities said.
