Car Plunges 40 Feet Down Embankment In Meriden; Teen Driver Hospitalized After Rescue A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured when her car veered off the road and plunged 40 feet down an embankment, authorities said. The crash happened near the intersection of Woodland Ridge and Golden Street in Meriden on Wednesday, April 9, around 2:45 p.m., according to police. The woman, who was driving a Toyota 4Runner, lost control and drove down the steep embankment, where firefighters had to descend the slope and extricate her from the SUV, Meriden police said. Car Carrier Erupts Into Flames On I-95 In Early Morning Norwalk Fire A truck hauling multiple vehicles caught fire early Wednesday, April 9, on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, destroying several cars in the process, authorities said.
