: Man Assaults Motel Worker, Charges At Cop In Lyndhurst, Police Say
A Nutley man under the influence of crack cocaine allegedly assaulted a motel worker, stole their keys, and charged at police officers responding to a 9-1-1 call in Lyndhurst, authorities said. The incident happened Thursday, April 17, at the Winslow Motel on Rutherford Avenue around 7:30 p.m., according to Detective Capt. Vincent Auteri of the Lyndhurst Police Department. Woman Killed, Man Wounded In Paterson Park Shooting: Prosecutor
A 21-year-old woman was killed and a 24-year-old man was wounded in a shooting at a Paterson park on Tuesday, April 22, authorities said. Officers responded to East Side Park just before 6 p.m. when gunfire rang out, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Patrick Murray said. A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle in Waterbury, authorities said. Police responded to the area of Grove Street and Cooke Street just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, after getting reports of a pedestrian struck, according to Lieutenant Ryan Bessette, public information officer for the Waterbury Police Department.
