Car Removed After Crashing Into River: Downe Twp Fire/Rescue (Photos) A car had to be pulled from the Maurice River in Millville on Monday, April 14, authorities said. Downe Twp Fire/Rescue and Dive Team said they responded to the scene following the crash, with the occupant removed from the vehicle prior to their arrival. Divers searched the area around the vehicle to ensure there were no other occupants, and assisted the tow company with hooking the vehicle up for removal, Downe Township Fire/Rescue and Dive Team said.

Woman Airlifted After Car Hit By Train: Franklin Township Police A woman was airlifted to a hospital after a train crashed into a vehicle in Gloucester County on the evening of Monday, April 14, authorities said. The woman had severe injuries following the collision between a commercial train and her car in Newfield Borough, Franklin Township police said. The crash caused the closure of Catawba Avenue in both directions and West Boulevard between Catawba Avenue and Greenwood Avenue, police said.

Toms River Man Started Fire In Living Room: Prosecutor A 59-year-old Toms River man is facing charges of aggravated arson after he intentionally started a structure fire on the evening of Monday, April 14, authorities said. Atlantic County Declared Disaster Area After Severe Drought: USDA Four Southern New Jersey counties have been declared disaster areas as farmers grapple with severe drought, the United States Department of Agriculture said. Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Gloucester counties were declared primary counties eligible after suffering a drought of eight or more weeks last year, the USDA said. Burlington, Camden, Ocean and Salem counties were declared contiguous disaster areas. One Firefighter Hurt After Blaze At Auto Repair Shop: Newark PD A firefighter was injured following a fire at an auto repair shop in Newark on the morning of Monday, April 14. At 9:22 a.m., Newark firefighters responded to Gibson Foreign Auto Repair on a call of a vehicle on fire inside the business, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
