Shelton State Rep. McGorty Announces Re-Election Bid
SHELTON, Conn. -- State Rep. Ben McGorty of Shelton will seek re-election to his seat in the state House, according to Trumbull Times. McGorty cited the plight of Connecticut's economy and a need to force the state to live within its means in his announcement, Trumbull Times reported. A Republican, McGorty was initially voted in during a special election in the summer of 2014 and then elected to a full term that fall, said Trumbull Times. Man Charged With Christmas Eve DWI In Greenwich
GREENWICH, Conn. -- A White Plains man turned himself into police to face a charge of driving while intoxicated in Greenwich on Christmas Eve, according to Greenwich Time. Frank Adamski, 58, was arrested for an alleged incident that took place at East Putnam Avenue and Lafayette Place on Dec. 24, Greenwich Time reported. Stamford Woman Charged With Darien DUI
DARIEN, Conn. -- A Stamford woman was charged with driving under the influence after a crash in Darien on Feb. 20, according to the Darien Times. Joanne Fusco, 45, allegedly rear ended another driver on Post Road near West Norwalk Road, attempted to leave the scene and was unable to complete field sobriety tests for authorities, the Darien Times reported. Fusco denied being under the influence and claimed she had taken prescription medication earlier that day, police told the Darien Times. Police: Robbers Take Stamford Teen's Nikes, iPhone
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 16-year-old boy was robbed of his phone and shoes on Lawn Avenue in Stamford on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Stamford Advocate. The suspect went through the victim's pockets and took his iPhone 6 and grabbed the red Nike Free Run sneakers off his feet, the Advocate said. HARRISON, N.Y. -- A Shetland Sheepdog, or Sheltie, went missing in West Harrison on Sunday, Feb. 28. Rusty, a 6-and-a-half-year-old neutered male, was last seen on Lake Street heading towards the airport, reservoir and Interstate 684. He was wearing only his electric fence collar. POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Dutchess County legislators dissected the Environmental Assessment Form for a proposed $192 million new jail and sheriff's office during a Committe of the Whole meeting on Monday, Feb. 29, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
