LITTLE FERRY, N.J. -- Happy birthday to Little Ferry's Buddy Valastro! Valastro, known as the "Cake Boss," a Little Ferry native, turns 39 today.
Valastro, a baker, cake designer, and owner of well-known bakery Carlo's Bakery, was born March 3, 1977.
He started working in the family business at the age of 11, alongside his father in Carlo's Bakery. When his father died in 1994, Valastro was just 17 years old and had succeeded him as the new "Cake Boss."

PARAMUS, N.J. -- Roy Frederick Bushman, a resident of Paramus, died Saturday, Feb. 27. He was 94.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was the longtime proprietor of Roy's Sunoco in Ridgefield and was a parishioner of RC Church of the Annunciation in Paramus.
He was predeceased by his wife Rosalie; and parents Robert and Augusta Bushman.

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- Roseanna Pehrson, a resident of Lyndhurst, died Sunday, Feb.28. She was 59.She was a daughter of the late Victor and Lena Podesta.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Pehrson; son, Michael Pehrson and his fianceé Juliet Murphy; brother Michael Podesta; and sister Ann Vermeal.
