Louis J. Porto, 87, Of Maywood
MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Louis J. Porto, a resident of Maywood, died Monday, Feb. 1. He was 87.Porto was a teacher for the Eleanor Roosevelt Junior High School 143 in Washington Heights, N.Y., for 36 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the American Legion Post 142 in Maywood and a veteran of the Air Force. He was also director of the summer recreation program at Memorial Park in Maywood for about seven years and a Eucharistic minister at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Carmela DiSanto, a resident of White Plains, died Tuesday, Feb. 2. She was 91.DiSanto worked for many years in the garment industry before her retirement.
She is survived by her children, Donato DiSanto and Tony DiSanto; her grandchildren, Anthony DiSanto, Christopher DiSanto and Nicholas DiSanto; her sister, Yolanda; and Emilia Giorgio.

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- William W. Byrne, a resident of Mamaroneck, died Monday, Feb. 1. He was 93.Byrne was a veteran of World War II, serving as an officer in the U.S. Army Air Force with the 8th Weather Squadron. He flew over 35 weather reconnaissance missions across the North Atlantic in support of forces operating in the European theater. Following the war and his graduation from Purdue, Byrne worked for over four decades at the Rexnord Corp. of Milwaukee, managing East Coast sales operations of conveyor equipment to the food packaging and waste management industries.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Anna Kotrady, a resident of Bridgeport, died Friday, Jan. 29. She was 101.
Kotrady retired as an assembler for General Electric. She was a life long member of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Bridgeport, where she was a member of the Choir, Seniors and was also a member of the Christmas Fair Committee.

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Albert DeCrenza, a resident of Peekskill, died Monday, Feb. 1. He was 76.He was born on Feb. 15, 1939 in Ossining,, to Alfonzo and Irene DeCrenza.
DeCrenza was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 456 in Elmsford, NY. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959 and also served in the Army National Guard.
