Man Charged With Shooting North Bergen Resident In Head: Prosecutor A 34-year-ol North Bergen resident was arrested and charged on Monday, Jan. 13, with shooting another man in the head last December, authorities said. On Monday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m., the North Bergen Police Department found Juan Moyet's lifeless body inside a second-floor residence at 9028 Palisade Plaza, Hudson County Prosecutor Ether Suarez said. Traffic Stop Turns Up Firearm In Denville: Police A 36-year-old Morris County man was arrested and charged with improperly transporting a firearm in Denville on Saturday, Jan. 11, authorities said. At 7:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the 7-Eleven at 45 W Main St., Denville police said. Officers discovered the driver, Daniel Schmidt, a Mountain Lakes resident, was improperly transporting a firearm, police said. Schmidt was ultimately arrested and transported back to Denville Police headquarters for processing, police said. He was charged with a weapons transportation violation and released pending a court date, police said.

Carjacking Outside East Orange 7-Eleven: Authorities A strong-arm carjacking occurred at a 7-Eleven in East Orange on Sunday, Jan. 12, authorities said. At 9:36 p.m., an unarmed suspect took the victim's 2023 BMW SUV at the 7-Eleven at 247 Freeway Dr., a spokesperson for the City of East Orange said. The unoccupied vehicle was later recovered in Newark, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact 973-266-5060.
