Gardening Workshop Comes to Bridgeport Library's Newfield Branch BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Bridgeport Public Library will hold a gardening workshop on Tuesday, March 22, at the Newfield Branch.Participants will learn about direct seeding versus transplanting. Everyone will sow some seeds and take home their own transplants. You will also learn about soil health and soil resources, how to grow healthy soil, soil safety, and local vendors. The workshop is for patrons of all ages, and it will run from 4-5 p.m. The Newfield Branch is located at 1230 Stratford Ave. For more information, call the library at 203-576-7828.

"I'm happy to report that our application submitted under the Direct Install Grant Program was approved for three township buildings," White said. "We have been awarded approximately $30,000 for the DPW garage, $17,350 for Engine Company No. 2 Firehouse, and $12,380 for Hook and Ladder Fire Company."
