Elmwood Park's Parkway Lanes To Remain Bowling Alley Despite Bankruptcy
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. -- Parkway Lanes, in Elwood Park, was facing a new future as a self-storage business, but the plans have shifted and it will now remain a bowling alley, The Record has reported.
The prior owner of the half-century-old facility filed for bankruptcy reorganization last July, said The Record. New York City's Storage Blue withdrew its buy offer, and John Fatigati will be buying it.

Pompton Lakes Students Volunteer For Tennis Clinic
POMPTON LAKES, N.J. -- Pompton Lakes Rec Department recently thanked Pompton Lakes High School volunteers who volunteered at its tennis clinic, on Sunday, April 10.
The next session will be on Sunday, April 17.
"The Pompton Lakes Recreation Commission offers a wide variety of programs for all ages during the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter seasons," its website notes. "Some of the programs offered are bowling, tennis, indoor field hockey, karate, arts and crafts, gymnastics, women's boot camp, indoor softball clinic, basketball, walking club and special needs."

Maywood Avenue School Organizes Tricky Tray Fundraiser
MAYWOOD, N.J. -- The Maywood Avenue School's tricky tray fundraiser, with a cocktail party, will be on Thursday, April 28."This is the single largest fund-raiser for MAS," said Maywood Public Schools Superintendent Michael Jordan. "The PTO and its many volunteers have been working very hard on this event."
The cost is $65 per person, and includes a sheet of 20 small-prize tickets; pasta, salad and dinner entree; unlimited beer, wine and soda; and coffee, tea and dessert. For the entrees, there are vegan, vegetarian and special-diet options available upon request.
