Stratford Police Pick Up Suspect On Warrant, Charged In Shelton Burglary SHELTON, Conn. — A man suspected of committing several commercial burglaries in Shelton and surrounding towns was arrested in an overnight break-in at Rita’s Italian Ice in Shelton on Thursday, police said. Later in the day, Stratford police stopped a BMW driven by Steven Carloto, 48, of Bridgeport, and arrested him on an unrelated warrant. Man Driving Wrong Way On Connector Arrested In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — A Milford man was arrested Monday after police found him traveling south on the northbound lanes of the Sherwood Island Connector, police said. Police said they smelled a distinct odor of marijuana and alcohol on Darrius Richardson, 36, of Cowles Street, Milford. He failed the standard field sobriety test and refused a breath test, police said. Richardson was charged with operation under the influence of drugs or alcohol and driving the wrong way, police said. He was help on $2,500 and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 15, police said.

Police: Westport Man Arrested After Threatening Officer, Civilian WESTPORT, Conn. — A Westport man was arrested on Aug. 30, after he entered the Westport Police Department and began threatening the staff, police said. According to the police report, Lawrence Kozar, 57, of Jesup Road, threatened an officer and a civilian working in the communications area. Bridgeport Man Charged With Making Up Stabbing On Westport Beach WESTPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man who said he was stabbed in the leg on Burying Hill Beach in May turned himself in to police headquarters Friday and was charged with making up the tale, police said.
